Interest-holding models - also referred to as long-term incentive models – aim to ensure the loyalty of high performers to the company and gain further high-performance employees on the market – beyond the base salary, bonuses and other perquisites.
The overall aim is to motivate employees to contribute to increasing the company's value – and with that, to promote entrepreneurial initiative on the part of executives and employees alike. This aim can be realised with:

- Stock appreciation rights,
- Silent partnerships
- Profit-related loans
- Long-Term-Incentive cash plans (especially for executives in non-listed companies) or
- Deferred Income models.
